In 2014, The Calculus Project launched in Orange County Public Schools with 23 students. Since then, the program's enrollment and reach has grown exponentially. The Calculus Project now serves over 2,000 students on all elementary and middle school campuses in Orange County.

Students who take a calculus course in high school are more likely to succeed in engineering, science and technology majors in college than those who don’t, so Orange County’s Calculus Project offers the promise of opening STEM careers.

Orange County’s first phase of the Calculus Project -- boosting middle school algebra success -- is working. In 2017, Orange had a larger percentage of middle school students -- 45.7 percent -- taking and passing algebra 1 than any other school district in Florida, nudging past Seminole County school district, which often leads the state in math and science success.

One of Meadowbrook's teachers had a 97% passing rate with her nearly 100 students.
Algebra 1 EOC pass rate for Calculus Project students is 83%.
For Geometry Honors, the South Creek Middle School's Calculus Project Geometry cohort led by their teacher, Ms. Sarape Wise, boasted a 100% pass rate on the Geometry EOC.
Robinswood Middle School Geometry Calculus Project students has a pass rate of 90%.
